Dr. Malin Vedøy Uthaug is a scientist, educator, consultant, freediver, and breathwork facilitator. Founder of Embalance AS and Principal Investigator at Maastricht University, her work examines how the human system responds to intense and altered states, and why these experiences can lead to adaptation or dysregulation.
Moving between pharmacological and non-pharmacological extremes, from 5-MeO-DMT to freediving, she combines immersive field research with biomarker-driven science. Her work bridges physiology, perception, and lived experience to translate insights from extreme human states into applications for health, performance, and human adaptation.
